The Crafting Journey (Part O)

It's finally here! Christmas in July! I love Christmas, but I also love that little bit of Christmas that makes its way into July, the happiness, the joy and excitement and the assurance that Christmas is now less than six months away!

I love looking at Christmas crafts. Though, when crafting, it is important to start early- especially if you are knitting or crocheting.

My husband makes Christmas crafts. Quite a few years ago, he made some beautiful items. We went for two weekends at a Christmas farmer's market and he only sold one item. He was angry- and heartbroken. It takes a lot of work to make to make stuff and then for nobody to be interested was heartbreaking. Unfortunately, that lack of interest totally ruined his crafting mojo. It is my hope that if he was approached by someone that perhaps he would craft again- it brings so much joy to him to sell things that he has created. Please feel free to check out his crafting page on Facebook  Craft ninja design https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100039597769365 His stuff is one of a kind and well priced. I helped with some of the crafts that my husband made, but trust me, if I made them by myself, they would be a mess- bows and glue guns are just not my thing. He is truly gifted at decorating, he decorates our Christmas tree and our home for the season. (This picture was taken at actual Christmas, we do not put up our tree to celebrate Christmas in July!)

Christmas, I love it so much because as previously mentioned, one of my love languages is gift giving. It is truly more blessed to give than receive, and I just love watching people open and love the gifts that I have given. Although I will probably never meet the recipients of the stuff I make for Craft for YEG, my heart is warmed to know that something I made will make a difference in someone's life.

We are all at different places in our crafting journeys. Some are great with stamps or scrapbooking others it is knit or crochet. Whatever you do, your crafting journey is important, even if you just do it for yourself.

I am a little Christmas nuts, so for the next 4 weeks, I will be enjoying Hallmark movies and a taste of the holiday season (probably playing some Christmas records too!). Merry Early Christmas my friends.

Until next time, keep on crafting.

Melanie
