The Crafting Journey (Part H)

So this week, I finally made some progress! I have a lot of projects on the needles, but that is okay, it helps me when I get bored with one thing to switch to another. 

I am making a shawl and I think I am on about the 4th try with using this yarn. It is colorful and I realized that making a shawl with multicolored yarn probably isn't a great idea, though I am going to continue with it. It will be a knit that I am donating to charity and although I am very critical of my own work, I am sure someone will appreciate it. Note to self, try in a solid color next time.

Then, I picked up some yarn that is ombre, and I am making another shawl with that. It starts as pink  then gradually turns into purple. It will take a while to make this one, the needle is small (3.75 mm). 

I did finish another dishcloth this week. I am trying to have a large stash of them. I have promised to make a few for some ladies in my church. I do not charge for this stuff, but it does take time so I like to make dishcloths in between my bigger projects.

I have had a few ladies from church who want to learn to knit, so I thought I might host a class or two so that the knitters can learn how to knit and purl. I am thinking that we will make a dishcloth with a picture on it!

 It's finally here! Christmas in July! I love Christmas, but I also love that little bit of Christmas that makes its way into July, the happiness, the joy and excitement and the assurance that Christmas is now less than six months away! I love looking at Christmas crafts. Though, when crafting, it is important to start early- especially if you are knitting or crocheting.  My husband makes Christmas crafts. Quite a few years ago, he made some beautiful items. We went for two weekends at a Christmas farmer's market and he only sold one item. He was angry- and heartbroken. It takes a lot of work to make to make stuff and then for nobody to be interested was heartbreaking. Unfortunately, that lack of interest totally ruined his crafting mojo. It is my hope that if he was approached by someone that perhaps he would craft again- it brings so much joy to him to sell things that he has created. The Crafting Journey (Part T)

 Part T- But sorry it's not a party! Hi, Thanks for tuning in weekly! I appreciate you and that you read my posts.  I am settling in to working at Michaels, although I am praying that this is a stepping stone to a medical reception job. Retail may be therapy, but it is not a job for everyone- including me. I put down the cradle bag for a while, I was given that advice and it was beneficial. I have now made the eyelets and I am casting off with a picot edge. There still are a few pieces that I have to do- like the bassinet hood and the edging around the whole cradle, plus the icord for drawstring closure. I have never done icord- so there definitely is a lot of learning on this. This one purse may be the one and only... on the other hand, at least I will be able to say I did it! The dazzling daffodils shawl is pretty- but coming along slowly. When I get to it though, I usually knit several rows at a time. The Crafting Journey (Part P)

 Hi there friends! I missed a week- I got sick and busy... but I also forgot!  I have not been knitting a lot lately. I have about three projects on the go, but there were several days within the last two weeks that I did not knit, sometimes I just don't feel like it! I have been looking for a job for a long time, and I finally decided to look outside my preferred field and try something different. I applied for a job at Michaels Craft Store and I got hired! So far I love it. I am a front end ambassador, so I greet all the customers and also supervise the self check out and ring people's stuff through regular check out. It is fun and I really enjoy meeting all the people. I have been warned not to spend my whole check there! I am still enjoying Christmas in July. I have decided already on a theme for my Christmas tree and what stuff I am going to make. I am planning to make some knitted snowflake ornaments as gifts.
