Be Refreshed

As mentioned in my prior post, I love to look at Pinterest. I have boards for food, quotes, scripture, etc. Tonight, I was checking it out and I saw a quote. It said:

"To the person reading this... I know you are either worried, overwhelmed, struggling in some way, or questioning God; but listen, He loves you and has a plan to bring you out of this stronger, brighter, and better than you were before. Trust the process."

Hmm... I can identify with that. But sometimes as we go through our difficult circumstances, we forget that God has a plan. I think the quote could end after that part.

When we go through those difficult things,we are often not looking at the end result, because we are wrapped up in the worries and cares of today; and don't I know that!

BUT, His plan is to bring you out of those places of darkness and hardships and when you come out you will be stronger and brighter and better than you were before. (Just as the quote says)

I have a lot of gaps in my memory. The gaps occurred because during particularly stressful times of my life, I wasn't considering the future. I was not focused on the fact that I would make it through, or that the result could be that I would be stronger or better than before. I was just "trying to make it through today." I don't regret the gaps, that was my coping mechanism.

When we are going through those feelings of "Where is God?" or we are worried or overwhelmed, we tend to be really self-centred. However, if we reach outward instead of inward, our whole perspective on our own situation can change. The Bible promises in Proverbs 11:25, "The generous man (is a source of blessing and) shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered (reaping the generosity he has sown). (Amplified Version)

In other words, when we feel that way, we should reach out to others; take our eyes off of ourselves and our own problems, and begin to pour into the lives of those around us. Maybe you feel like you have nothing left to pour into others because you feel like your own emotional tank is running on empty, but DO IT ANYWAY!-Not for the blessings you may receive as a result, but because in so doing, God can refresh your spirit and give you a new hope and a new perspective. Remember, it won't rain always, and the valleys are not eternal. Whatever situation you are walking through, He is with you, and He won't leave you there; and you can come out better, stronger and brighter than before!

Have a blessed day!

Melanie
