Purpose In Our Pain
Is there purpose in our pain?
Our world is a very unfair place. We cannot understand why there is suffering, and why we must endure it. The bible is full of examples of people who endured pain; look at Job, he lost everything he had! Paul had a thorn in his flesh. Life is tough sometimes.
We all have difficult stuff to go through. There can be purpose in our pain and sometimes that purpose is for our faith to grow. Sometimes we don't see the purpose in our pain because we don't understand it as we go through; but note the operative word is "Through". Difficulties don't go on forever, we walk THROUGH them. During those times of difficulty, God has promised to never leave us or forsake us! (Hebrews 13:5) Even David, a man after God's own heart, felt despair but in 23rd Psalm, he says :"Yea, though I walk Through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for YOU are with me..." (Psalm 23:4).
Isn't it a beautiful thing to know that God is with us? He is Emmanuel... which literally means "GOD with us." Always. He is with us no matter what our circumstances, but he loves us enough not to leave us in our difficulties and despair. He will walk with us and see us through.
I hope that you will be encouraged by these words and understand that even though we don't like to endure it, there can be purpose in our pain.
Have a blessed day!
