The Crafting Journey (Part T)

Part T- But sorry it's not a party!

Hi,

Thanks for tuning in weekly! I appreciate you and that you read my posts.

I am settling in to working at Michaels, although I am praying that this is a stepping stone to a medical reception job. Retail may be therapy, but it is not a job for everyone- including me.

I put down the cradle bag for a while, I was given that advice and it was beneficial. I have now made the eyelets and I am casting off with a picot edge. There still are a few pieces that I have to do- like the bassinet hood and the edging around the whole cradle, plus the icord for drawstring closure. I have never done icord- so there definitely is a lot of learning on this. This one purse may be the one and only... on the other hand, at least I will be able to say I did it!

The dazzling daffodils shawl is pretty- but coming along slowly. When I get to it though, I usually knit several rows at a time. Progress is slow though because each pattern repeat is 36 rows!

I am getting a little bored of my current projects, but I just found out that one of the pastors at my church, and his wife are having another baby in September- so maybe I will make a blanket. I also have some yarn for a shawl that is yellow- I think it is called the Beekeeper Shawl. So maybe those will be my next projects and once the daffodil shawl is done I am starting another one in yellow. I certainly have enough projects to keep me busy. I am still thinking about whether or not I want to make the snowflakes- I have a few patterns, but I don't have a lot of patience to make stuff that is fussy or small needles etc.

You probably think I am Christmas nuts (I am- so it is okay if you have that perception of me) but I have lots of Christmas projects I want to do that are not necessarily knitting- like making those candied oranges and orange peels. I am thinking about all this stuff and perhaps that is why I am a little wishy washy on my knitted projects. I do not want to spread myself too thin and then not accomplish my current knitting goals or baking or cooking projects that I want to do.

Anyway, I will continue to keep on knitting and I will keep you posted on my progress of the current stuff! Have a great week and Happy Crafting!

Melanie
