The Crafting Journey (Part V)
Hello!
I cannot believe it is already September! Time to start thinking about the projects that I want to get done for the winter. I knit slowly, and although I have a few things that I have knit the past few months, I don't feel it is enough to make a donation, so I am going to wait until the December round up to donate what I currently have, and by that time, I will have a few more items too.
I am making progress on the little dress I started, already I have knit the top part and now it is just plain knit (stockinette actually, because it is in the round).
I was thinking about all the yarn I have, and the patterns too. Several years ago, I purchased some purple and black yarn. My intention was to make myself a long cape for the winter. I wanted to lose some weight so that I could wear it for a while. Now thinking about that, perhaps a cape is a little matronly and out of style. I have never considered myself a fashionista, but it would be a big project and I am not sure I want to do it anymore. It would be perfect yarn for some winter shawls though... I will have to think about that. Sometimes it is hard to give up the dream of what could have been and move on to something more practical. Of course it is! That is why I have so many unfinished projects; that, and I lose momentum and interest sometimes.
I am working at Michaels and although I like it, I do not love it. I am still believing that God has a special medical reception job for me, but maybe that opportunity has not come up yet. I believe in blooming where you are planted and perhaps, I am at Michaels for such a time as this. God has a plan for my life and I know he can use me to spread love and light to those I work with.
I just want to shine Jesus to everyone around me- just by being me. That is why I donate the stuff I knit, and why I do what I do. I love Jesus!
Have a great week and happy crafting!
Melanie
