The Crafting Journey (Part L)

This week I was looking at my knitting board on Pinterest. It made me realize how much I have grown as a knitter. There are many items that I have made (unfortunately I don't have pics because I didn't always take pictures of my stuff). Anyway, it made me think of my knitting accomplishments. I made a shawl which I thought would be the death of me, lots of yarn overs and lots of frogging- but I did it (it's the pink one that I showed when I started the blog). There are also patterns that I have made more than once, like the Higher Love Hat from YaYa Loves to Knit and hanging dishtowels from the Michaels website.

I once made a round rug, and when I was finished with it, I thought it looked like a pointesettia in the middle, so I made one for myself that was red and green, then I sewed some gold buttons in the center. It is a lovely addition to my Christmas decor.

Speaking of Christmas, I long for it and while I do love summer, I look forward to Christmas items being in the stores. I always look for knitted stuff- stuff I could make but never do! If any crafting is going to be done as gifts, now is the time to start- starting early helps avoid panics when it is December 20th and the project isn't done.

Today I am focusing on completing a hat, but I also have those hanging dishtowels and two shawls on the needles. I frogged the lace portion of the pink and purple shawl (again!) so I put that down for a while. I promise to show some pictures when it is finished.

Are you planning any projects? I would love to hear what is on your needles. Keep on crafting!

Melanie
